There is however, another plain marble fireplace in the same house (Christchurch Mansion) which has unusual charm. Here the simple ornament of the marble structure is confined to the flattened scroll supports. The overmantel is a plaster imitation of drapery arranged in elegant folds the better to set off the very charming bust, (it might be a portrait bust, or an imaginative figure). Now of the revivalists of Inigo Jones-one of the best examples in miniature as one could wish to find is that of Ston Easton in Somerset.
